Many PC users get worried about their computer’s deteriorating health over time. Nobody wants to spend hundreds of bucks on a machine that is unable to achieve its expected performance. But as there can be a bunch of different reasons why your hardware is not performing up to the mark, pinpointing these issue can be a bit tricky. PC auditing tools can prove to be really useful in such situations, because they allow you to identify the key system areas effected by the issue. Webroot System Analyzer is a free to use, portable application for Windows designed to help you with the task by doing a quick system assessment in just a couple of minutes, and providing you a detailed report of various potential or existing issues including hardware, software and malicious threats.
The first useful bit about the app is its portable nature; you do not need to install it – simply download and start using it. The second awesome aspect is the interface that looks fairly modern and classy. When launched, click the ‘Agree and Begin Analysis’ button to begin system analysis.
Webroot System Analyzer then does a quick audit of your system by checking areas like operating system, hard disk configuration, file fragments, attached devices, processes, memory, network and malicious threats. The scan process doesn’t last more than 2 minutes as advertised on Webroot’s webpage. Furthermore, you can cancel this process any time you want.
When the scan is done, the application displays its findings in an easily understandable manner by splitting up the information into hardware, software and threats sections. The application signifies the issues via exclamations and cross signs. And if there’s no issue found in a component and all seems as it should, a checkmark is displayed besides it. The program also presents an overall System Analyzer Score on a scale of 0 to 100 to give you an overview of your computer’s present state, and a low score here means something’s not quite right.
Clicking ‘View Advanced detail’ let you further scrutinize the report. One thing worth noticing is that the tool doesn’t offer a way to resolve the issues, leaving it up to the users how they approach it. The advanced report can be easily opened in the default text editor such as notepad via clicking View Full Report button at the bottom.
All in all, it’s an excellent app to quickly find key issues on your Windows machine. Although it’s not very feature-rich and doesn’t let you tinker with loads of settings, the app does a great job auditing many key areas. Webroot System Analyzer works on both 32-bit and 64-bit variants of Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
